BYD India has officially confirmed that the BYD Sealion 7 is launching on February 17! We last saw this electric SUV at the Auto Expo 2025, and now, it’s set to become BYD’s most premium offering in India. When it hits the market, it’ll go head-to-head with the Kia EV6, which is also due for a facelift soon.
Two Variants to Choose From
The BYD Sealion 7 will be available in two versions:
- Premium RWD (Rear-Wheel Drive)
- Performance AWD (All-Wheel Drive)
For those craving speed, the Performance AWD can go from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds!

Both variants pack the same 82.56kWh battery, but the Performance AWD brings a power boost at the cost of a slightly lower range. It’s also worth noting that the Sealion 7 shares its battery, motor, and drivetrain setup with the BYD Seal sedan, but with some differences in torque.

Step inside, and you’ll find a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen at the heart of the dashboard, running Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. Most of the car’s functions are controlled via this display. Other key features include:
